As an internationally recognized expert in sustainable architecture and urban development, I bring over 25 years of experience leading transformative initiatives in both academic and professional realms. My career has been marked by significant leadership roles within academia coupled with a decade in professional practice, advancing sustainable design, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, and nurturing programs that equip architects to tackle global challenges effectively.

Throughout my diverse career, I have operated across various socio-cultural, politico-economic, and bio-climatic contexts in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Africa, and China. 

In professional practice, I’ve managed project and site supervision for major developments like Downtown Dubai and the Abu Dhabi Convention Centre, focusing on tropical desert environments. My projects, including ‘Housing+’ for the Government of Western Australia and ‘Urban Ecolution’, integrate cutting-edge technologies and sustainable materials with human-centered design, underscoring my dedication to sustainable development through architecture.

As academic my achievements include co-establishing and implementing architecture programs at RWTH/GUtech Oman, Zayed University and Canadian University, specifically tailored to regional needs for ‘Desert Architecture’, as well as continued sustainable architecture and urbansim at Bond University and AUDRC/UWA in Australia.
In research/ My success in securing over 2 million dollars in competitive funding has propelled interdisciplinary research and international collaborations forward. Notable projects such as ‘Desert Culture: Cooler Cities’, and ‘Blue Oasis: Climate Design Simulations’, among others, exemplify my ability to align research with practical challenges, forge industry partnerships, and deliver innovative solutions.

I celebrate life across various bio-climates, eager for socio-cultural enriching experiences with great people. I have lived in 5 different countries and have visited over 60 during my adventures include sailing, diving, offroading and exploring the contemporary architecture and vernacular ingenuity of unique socio-cultural settings.
